The Library Hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9AM-6PM Wednesday and Friday 9AM-5PM and Saturday 9AM-1PM.

Library cards are free to anyone with verification of their social security card or Drivers License. This expansion will allow the library to furnish meeting room space, increase programming, number of volumes, and public computers. Expansion of the current library building, beginning in summer 2001 will add an additional 6,000 square feet of space to the current building.

Mississippi Shakespeare in the Lucedale City Park is sponsored by the Library every two years. In 1991, the library won national notoriety in relations with the theme “the little library that could”. It is the third largest in circulation of materials in the Jackson-George Regional Library System. Many individuals enjoy the Lucedale-George County Public Library. The Splash Pads are open in the early Spring and close in the Fall. Our splash pads are perfect spots to cool off during warmer weather. The newest one is located at Benyard Pak while the other two are located inside the Municipal Park. Lucedale also has two other small parks they are Lavelett Park and Benyard Park for community enjoyment. Lucedale Soccer complex is adjacent to the Milton Murrah Ball Field and features lighted soccer fields and a softball field. Make sure to visit our 300 seat amphitheater and war memorial while visiting the Park. Pavilions and bar-b-que grills are frequently in use accommodating civic groups, family reunions and the general public. New state of the art playground equipment, tennis courts, basketball courts, a walking track, Splash Pad and many facilities for Scouting and picnics. The Lucedale City Park is very unique and offers fun for young and old alike.
